Well swell. I made it two whole consecutive days. In my defense, I'm sick. I've missed 2 days of work and feeling very guilty about it. I'm almost finished with the balls and hope to get a pic on by tomorrow.

I also haven't baked the cookies, although I did make the dough. Let's face it, do I really want to make cookies while sick? What if I'm contagious? Anyway, enough excuses and backsliding-tomorrow is another day.

Well, my balls are coming along. In fact, I'm pretty proud of them. Pics to follow. So far I have 3 done except for the final coats of sealer. They look awesome!

We're going to Santa Monica today to meet my son for lunch. Going to a fish place called Neptune's Net right on the beach. Excited to see him. It started out just him and me and then my hubby took off to come and daughter doesn't go into work until 3:00 so she's coming too. Should be fun, we don't do enough together and hardly ever with Paul.

Plan to come home and finish the balls...and do laundry :-(...I mean yay! I guess I should be glad I have clothes to wash.

The First of Many

Hey out there! Doubt anyone sees this, but that's not the point. This is for me and anyone else who is going through stuff. Physical, emotional, whatever.

I love to try new crafts and I see all the blogs of extremely creative people who actually follow through. Where do they get the time? Oh yeah, they aren't hooked on Frontierville or whatever. Yeah, yeah. Well I can quit any time I want. I'm kind of over it anyway.

This a being said, I would like to start this blog with a passion of mine. I love to watch the BBC version of Cash In The Attic. They find the most amazing things in people's houses. Maybe because the houses are 100s of years old!! Anyway, in one episode, they showed these carpet balls (pronounced carpet bowls :-}). They're Victorian, which is awesome, and people kept them in a bowl in their parlors and played indoor bocci ball.  I found some in an antique store and was tempted to buy them but I'm thrifty (translate:poor) and couldn't part with the money.

I see lots of modern balls in stores, but I really want to make some of my own. My plan is to make a few and display them in a bowl on the dining room table.
So here we go. I hope to have some pics to post by tomorrow.
